I recently read 'Blue Hibiscus' which I picked up in the school library: it reminded me of 'Chinese Cinderella' but it was even more disturbing. I kind of wish I hadn't read it in fact. On Tuesday, I saw someone reading it on the train and I wanted to ask her about what she thought of it, but then I considered that she might think it was a little odd, so I didn't. Now I'm re-reading 'Things Fall Apart' (also by a Nigerian writer) and 'How to Cure a Fantatic' by Amos Oz - both of which I'm enjoying much more.
